"Nakhchivan" University was registered in the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 1999 and started operating as a higher education institution. The university is the only private higher education institution located outside Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

96 specialists work at the university. Of the teachers engaged in scientific and pedagogical activities at the university, 4 people are doctors of science-professors, 20 people are doctors ofphilosophy - associate professors.

The university has 4 faculties and 10 departments. Currently, 1469 students are studying at "Nakhchivan" University.

The university offers bachelor's training in 16 majors and master's training in 7 majors.

"Nakhchivan" University is located in a privatized area of ​​about 4 hectares. The university campus, where more than 2,000 students can study at the same time, includes the rector's building, teaching building, foreign language building, library building, social service center, dormitory building, sports and cultural complex.

Special consideration is given to the use of ICT in the organization of teaching at the university. All buildings have installed electronic control and management systems that are not far behind leading world universities, and a complete infrastructure for electronic education has been created. All lecture rooms are equipped with the most modern modified electronic boards.

Currently, each of the 441 computers used in the university is connected to the Internet, 343 of them are available to students. In addition, 18 electronic boards installed in lecture rooms serve to organize education at a high level. Since 2015, the university has been using the Internet at a speed of 100 megabits.
