Nurlana Sabir gizi Aliyeva was born in 1977 in Nakhchivan city. She entered the secondary school N7 named after E.Sultanov in 1983 and graduated from school in 1993. In the same year, she entered the Philology profession of the "Humanitarian" faculty of Nakhchivan State University, and in 1997 she graduated from that profession with honors. In 1997, she entered the "Azerbaijani literature" specialty of the Master's degree of Nakhchivan State University, in 1999, after graduating from that specialty, she started working as an editor in the "Geyret" publishing house of Nakhchivan State University.
Since 2001, she has worked as a teacher at the "Azerbaijani language and literature" department of Nakhchivan Private University, and since 2012 as a senior teacher. In 2013, she defended her candidate's thesis on "Muhammad Taghi Sidgi and children's literature" and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Philology. In 2017, she was elected as a substitute assistant professor by the decision of the Scientific Council of “Nakhchivan” University dated May 30, 2017 No. 06, and from February 2018, she was elected to the position of dean of the "Pedagogical" faculty of the university. On February 8, 2019, she was awarded the honorary title of “Honored teacher” of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic by the order of the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
On December 5, 2019, she was appointed as the rector of "Nakhchivan" University by the order of the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and on February 1, 2023, she was appointed as vice-rector for teaching and educational affairs of "Nakhchivan" University. She is the author of about 40 scientific articles, 1 textbook, 2 methodical materials, and 2 subject programs.
